An exciting place to be is Petal Middle School!  This star school’s hallowed halls brimming with enthusiastic preteens and teenagers are the home to seventh and eighth grade students eager to embrace the school experience.  From elementary school to high school is a vital transition period in a student’s school career; therefore, this is a top priority of the administration and teachers at Petal Middle School.  Teachers work collaboratively to prepare engaging lessons which provide opportunities for every student to excel in academics and extracurricular activities on a daily occurrence. Promoting personal and team achievements encourages a positive self esteem and enhances a student’s physical and academic well-being.  Team sports such as football, basketball, and baseball, as well as cheerleading, band, show choir, and art classes provide a diverse array of activities for students to participate.  Clubs and organizations include Beta Club, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Math Counts, Speech & Debate and Science Olympiads.  Middle school students can be seen practicing for a school wide talent show or leisurely reading a book in the outside classroom.  Off campus lunches in addition to special rewards are given to students reaching their reading goals.  Positive recognition is made each nine weeks for “Doing the Right Thing” which is the motto of the administration, teachers, and students. One day out of the school year seventh graders can be seen in local businesses participating in “Career Day’ sponsored by their ICT class.  All of these programs empower students to explore and expand their talents and interests.  Because of these endeavors, Petal Middle School students develop valuable collaborative skills, foster friendships, and prepare for their future.

Each day, drop offs begin at 7:50 a.m. in the front at the awning by the auditorium.  Walkers are not to arrive on campus before 7:50 a.m.
